İG Staff (İstanbul) – In view of the tense situation in İstanbul over the past few days, the senior journalist Ruhat Mengi made quite a remarkable announcement on Halk TV, the private television station that has become the main outlet for livestream coverage of the events currently taking place on the streets of Istanbul: ‘Turkcell . . . the biggest mobile network in Turkey states that they received orders and political pressure from the ruling party AKP and government to block the communications in Istanbul mainly Taksim square which they obeyed as well as the other 2 main networks!
